Breakfast - Ryokan Style!
From Ito to Tokyo ... We're Back!
Day 17 - 6/27
Breakfast was an adventure, especially having a fish fried right on your table!  At least it was already dead and cleaned (and tasty!).
Clockwise from upper left: Shirley relaxes in the garden; Randy takes pictures of the carp; the garden in the ryokan; the send off at the train station; Chrissy watches our train arrive; Christopher stylin' by wearing his ryokan dew rag on the streets of Tokyo!
The Meiji Shrine.
The Meiji Shrine is in the Harajuku district of Tokyo.  More than just a building, it is a series of buildings in a park complex.
Multicolored bags were on display from companies that had donated tea to the Shrine.  At least, that is what we were told, and it sounded good to us!
What was amazing was that in the middle of Tokyo was this "Central Park" like area where wooden structures blended in with the natural surroundings.
Blocks could be purchased so that visitors could write their wishes on the block and have it blessed in the shrine; the temple's drum.
Sometimes the beauty is in the details!
