Train to Shizuoka
Follow the Yellow Tile Road!
Day 8 - 6/18
We're staying for one night in a hotel only one minute walk from the train station.  Why, when Ito is only another hour away?
To visit Shizuoka University of Course!  But that's for tommorow.  What's up for today?  Well, first we have to get there ...
The Room
The room looks like it was designed in the 1960s, Japanese style, of course!  It even had a radio built into the headboard.
Follow the Yellow Tile Road!
It was raining, so I decided to link up with a few people who were going shopping.  How do we get across the street?  By underground, of course!  Along the way, I saw some interesting manholes.  Later on, the yellow tile road lead us outside as well.
Food, Glorious Food!
After touring an 8 story department store, and finding plastic food you could use to guide you in your consumer decisions ...
I ventured down into the basement of the building and found my mecca ... the food court/supermarket!!!
Time to make the Speech!
With sushi dinner and mixed fruit tart as my aides, I dove into my homework: writing my speech to the Mayor and Superintendent of Ito City.  It's due to the translator tomorrow.  Yikes!  At least I had some interesting music to listen to, thanks to my finding a Virgin Records store in one of the department stores.  Wish me luck!
Techie Note:  I'm back online!  It's the 27th of June.  Sorry for the blackout.  I will try to get content online at a rate of at least a page a day until the travelog is done.  Thanks for stopping by!
